Good News Daily is not Politically or Religiously connected or affiliated in any way. Our belief system is simple. The media portrays all news as bad when in fact many good things are happening around the world on a daily basis. Good News Daily seeks to post good news stories from around the world whether it is todays news or a 50 year old story. We believe that the obsession and inundation of people with bad news on a daily basis is not in our best interest as it makes people feel negative about the world around them. Instead we believe that since the mainstream news stations of the world focus on bad news and dirty laundry almost exclusively we will instead focus on good news and give people the option to hear simply that or mix it with whatever percentage of bad news they see fit.
What can you do?
At Good News Daily we urge you to post your good news stories from around the world in whatever section you see fit. Simply write down in your own words what happened and send it in or post it yourself. Simple as 1,2,3,. We are always looking for Good News both past and present including:
- Up to the minute Headline Good News. We would love to have any and all breaking goodnews. When a negative news story breaks in the press there is virtually always countless good news around it that is not reported. Please do send in all you know past and present.
- Good Stories about your family and what they might have done to help this world. We’re sure that if you dig into your family history you will find many good news stories from your past. Ask your Parents and Grandparents for a story you might be surprised!
- Soldiers Good News Stories..We know there is a lot of good happening in Iraq and Afganistan and many other places but the main stream media simply will not tell us about it. We know, for instance, that Soldiers have rebuilt schools, given out polio shots and brought in food and medical supplies worldwide and this is what we are looking for.
- Hero stories. Heroes are made everyday but we rarely get to hear about it. Please send in all you know.
- Environmental Good News..the world is seeking alternatives to oil and global warming as well as countless, unrecognized good happening to help this planet heal itself. Please post everything you know.
- Home town legends. We would love to hear about anyone or anything that happened in your home town that was legendary good news.
- Sporting Good News. Tell us about your team that won…Good News!
- Stories about Stories. If you read a story or hear one on the news but you know there is a good side not being reported, write it up and send it in!
- Weather.Where is the good weather today? Send it in!
- Babies: Our Future Good News Fans. Send in pictures and tell us about the new baby! New babies are always good news! Include any stories you already have about them.
- Firemen and Policemen: We know there is a lot of good happening all around please tell us your stories.
- Medical Good News. Doctors, Nurses and patients tell us what happened and is happening. We would love to hear everything good.
- New Innovations. Please tell us about any new products or services that can help us all in someway. Spread the word!
- Kids Good News. There is goodnews happening at schools, at home, on the playground, at the mall. Tell us about it and become a published writer today!!
- Pictures and Video. If you have pictures or video to go along with your good news send it in! We would love to see it.
- Other Good News Sections. Send us in any and all suggestions you have for other sections. We would love to hear your ideas.
The Butterfly Effect
It is said that a “Butterfly flapping its wings in Japan will cause a hurricane on the other side of the world” We believe that people are in fact tired of the daily onslaught of bad news delivered to them each day. We also believe that this is one of the root causes for people to feel bad about the world around them and life in general. Instead we here at Good News Daily attempt to bring as many good news stories to as many people as we can and perhaps begin a “butterfly effect” of spreading the good news there is around the world. Please help us in this by telling as many of your friends and family about Good News Daily as possible. Perhaps one day the good news will overtake the bad and the world will change for the better…all part of the butterfly effect.

Do good anyway!

Some years ago I came across The Ten Paradoxical Commandments for Leadership. Over the years I have tucked these commandments away for safe-keeping, but ,from time-to-time, bring them out and reread them, as they always are a source of strength and focus. Anyone who has ever devoted himself/herself to a good cause, or sought to make things better for the people in his/her sphere of influence, understands the need to rise above the criticism of small minds and destructive people.
The progress of humankind was never accomplished by naysayers. Most every great effort of whatever nature was thwarted by those who said it could not be done and threw their stones. The good in the world has often been accomplished in the face of horrific opposition, and indeed, history has recorded its martyrs who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Sometimes even a kind word or compassionate gesture is met with resistance and suspicion.
The challenge is always to rise above negativity, disapproval, and cynicism. It is not easy to go against the current, or to be shot down when one's motive is worthy or noble. The temptation is to throw in the towel and adopt an attitude of "What's the use?" But true leaders never allow negativity to get the upper hand. The good never wins by surrendering heart, soul or purpose.
That is why one must always push on for truth, push on for a good cause and push on for what is right. In the eyes of the world, such a one may or may not wear a laurel, but in one's heart of hearts, s/he knows what integrity and truth are all about. May you anchor your life in these paradoxical commandments of leadership:
1 People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.
2 If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
3 If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
4 The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
5 Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
6 The biggest men with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.
7 People favor the underdogs but follow only the top dogs. Fight for the underdogs anyway.
8 What you spend years building maybe destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
9 People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help them anyway.
10 Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.
