Delaware County Community Foundation announces grants

The Delaware County Community Foundation has made $100,000 in grants to fund hospice and home health-care services in the southeastern Pennsylvania county.

The grants were awarded from the Delaware County Home Health Care Fund, which was established in 1996 at the Philadelphia Foundation and is administered by the Delaware County Community Foundation. The fund supports the provision of home health-care services to the indigent in Delaware County.

The Delaware County Memorial Foundation and the Crozer-Chester Foundation each received $26,666 to support Crozer-Keystone hospice and home care, which cares for more than 7,000 patients each year through Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pa., and Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa.

Mercy Home Health, which is based in Springfield, Pa., received a $26,666 grant to support the provision of home-care services in Delaware County.

The Hospice and Home Care Foundation, a part of Main Line Health, whose Riddle Memorial Hospital is in Delaware County, received a $12,500 grant for its network of community home-care services.

Liberty at Home received a $7,500 grant to serve independent seniors who want to remain in their homes. Liberty at Home is based in Ambler, Pa., which is in Montgomery County, but serves people in Delaware County as well as Montgomery County.
